Pediatric Heart Surgery
The Tulane Pediatric Heart Center team has years of experience and impeccable results using the advanced techniques for even the most complex defects. We have deep expertise in neonatal surgery and where some centers approach children with multiple staged operations (including shunts and bands); we achieve safe, single stage repairs whenever possible. Tulane is one of the only centers in the country to employ 3-pronged neuromonitoring (blood flow, brain oxygen saturations and EEG) to minimize neurologic risk during and after open heart surgery.
